Who’s Behind It

Michael on PremiumBrands and building a useful search brand.

As the founder of PremiumBrands.com, I select domains for people who want to build recognizable online businesses. SEOSurfer.com connects a familiar field of work with a more open, exploratory personality. That combination gives a founder something concrete to work with: a name that suggests search without describing every feature a future business might offer.

Why the starting name matters to me

My interest in domains comes from building businesses around them. I acquired i-Newswire.com in 2007 and upgraded the business to Newswire.com in 2015. The business sold to Issuer Direct in 2022 for $44 million. That was a business sale, with the work and organization behind it, rather than a sale price for the domain itself. The distinction matters. A memorable address can support a business, but it cannot stand in for everything the business has to do.

That experience shapes how I look at a name today. I want to see a plausible connection between the address, a real audience, and a useful offer. A founder should be able to explain the business in a normal conversation. The domain should help that introduction, then continue to make sense as the product improves. It should not require an elaborate story every time someone sees it.

More can be built by smaller teams

I'm interested in what AI makes possible for people starting online businesses. A small team can test an interface, organize research, and develop an initial product with less friction than before. That gives more people a chance to act on an idea. It also puts more weight on the choices around the product: what to build, which audience to serve, how to earn trust, and how to make a useful promise that can actually be kept.

I don't think a domain replaces that judgment. I see it as a major component of the brand a founder is trying to build. A clear address can support marketing and make recommendations easier. The lasting value comes from the experiences attached to it: whether customers get help, whether the explanations are honest, and whether people feel comfortable returning or referring someone else.

A search name with a human side

Search work can become crowded with jargon and absolute claims. SEOSurfer.com has a friendlier tone. I can picture it on a practical learning publication or a thoughtful tool for people who manage websites. The important part would be choosing a focused job and doing it well. A name can welcome a broad audience, while the initial product still needs to solve one clear problem.

For this domain, I would be especially interested in a builder who respects uncertainty. Search practitioners often have to make decisions with partial information. A useful brand could help them ask better questions, document what changed, and explain the limits of what they know. That kind of care gives customers a reason to trust a business over time. It is more compelling to me than a dramatic promise about rankings.

PremiumBrands and the next builder

PremiumBrands.com is where the domain offering and acquisition conversation begin. OnlineBusiness.com provides additional context for my work around online businesses. Across that work, the thread is the same: help a good name meet a useful business idea, then leave room for the person building it to bring their own knowledge, taste, and customer relationships.

The examples on this website are possibilities for a future owner. They are not claims that I operate those products or that a buyer will achieve a particular result. Each concept is meant to make the business questions more specific: who would use it, what would they pay for, and what could be tested before committing to a larger build? A founder may have a better answer or an entirely different direction.

If SEOSurfer.com fits what you are working on, use the inquiry form to introduce the project. You can ask about acquiring the domain or describe a partnership proposal. I find a short explanation of the intended audience and the role of the name helpful. From there, the conversation can focus on the domain and whether there is a practical way forward.
